Surname under the scanner...

I have never started an independence day in my life with so much feeling of fury. Its humiliating, its disgusting…how can they detain SRK for 2 hours on the ground of his last name? In a country where its own weekly magazine News week named him one of the most 50 powerful people of the world, suddenly totally forgot the global icon? We have enough of this Americanish security system…we know how important is this to maintain the protocols, but their Govt. should realize where to put the full stop! You just cannot put a whole religion behind the bars because of some particular religious groups. How in humanitarian is this? A personality like Shahrukh Khan who was honoured with an honorary doctorate in arts and culture from Britain's University of Bedfordshire, has been detained for questioning, is something shocking for every Indian over the nation. Let’s forget about SRK’s star status…the whole thing still would be disgusting for every Indian.

I totally agree with our honorable I & B minister Ambika Soni who thinks we should treat Americans with their own medicine. No country should be given any right to frisk any body just on the basis of his religion. And look at the irony…SRK’s upcoming film which is already much in news because of the shahrukh, kajol & Kjo trio…is a joint venture of star India & ‘Twentieth Century Fox’ which is interestingly a major American film studio & the more fascinating fact is, the film is on a Muslim & his journey across America!! Hmm…I think Karan Johar should prepare a special promotional plan for the film in USA, with SRK’s detail CV & character certificate…what say? If they can detain a person on the ground of his last name…here the title of the film contains ‘Khan’…I wonder what will be their reaction to the entire film?

On 62nd Independence Day such disgraceful incident shows the existence of racism. It’s utterly shameful. I’m all about security system, I’m all about protocols & I understand how much important is all these to combat any terror attack but it’s not at all permissible to harass a person just on the basis on his religion.

If you go by history and/or facts United States was always the leader for "Welcoming people based on their talent not on their color/religion". A country where "Perform or perish" is the mantra, a country with less than 20% of native educated people (red indian), a country always eager to get one step ahead from rest of the world, never had any choice without welcoming the best talent from rest of the world. Even if you compare the whole world, US is probably the least "racist" country among the top brash (compare with Australia, France, UK, Germany etc). So, evidence/history/facts says that United States are one of the most open minded country in the world, still today. Certainly after 9/11 things are changed and yes, it changed a lot. Things India as a country can not do, because of the week rupee, but US can do because of their stronger Dollar.

A country where, when a person last took his anti-fever vaccine got recorded in the computer disk, how is it possible that they had less information about "Mr. Shahrukh Khan"? So, Mr. Khan has been harassed by the Airport Authority based on his "Last Name" can only be believable to the people who never understand business (crafted by Mr. Khan and Mr. Johar (or Ms. ??? ha ha ha)).

Mr. Khan used to visit different part of US (mainly to NYC and California) very frequently, and recently Air-India revels the fact that Mr. Khan has the "Frequent Flier" pass with them for US. So I am assuming he has been visited atleast 30/40 times even after 9/11. Question is why he has not been caught before? Was his surname was Pandey/Gandhi that time? This is absolutely bogus. The whole thing is fabricated. Its a "Brutally planned Promo" for his upcoming movie, "My Name is Khan".

FEELING SORRY FOR SRK and all the people who has to go through such scanning and frisking BECAUSE THEY ARE THE FOLLOWERS OF ISLAM.
This is truly height of nuisance. How can one be interrogated just because he is an ISLAM. It should be condemned at the highest level. It is a serious issue of concern for our government. First MR.KALAM being frisked in spite of all the exemptions that the INDIAN const. provides to such people and now srk.these men are well known throughout the world and then facing such humiliation is disgraceful.
if such high rated personalities have to face this then obviously for the commoners these interrogation would be like HELL.
And, will the Americans tolerate if we hold and interrogate, say one US senator or say Brad Pitt for 2 hours in IGI airport? our government ought to take some serious step to make such countries realize their mistake and forbid them from doing such evil deeds. we as an Indian are proud of our cultures and others. we do not look down upon the others just because they are not one of us or belongs to any particular religion. We respect them and their religion.and something similar to this is demanded from the rest of the world.
